Installation solar collector

Explanation of plan solar collector system


















The controller (Deltasol BS Plus) controls the system due to 3 sensors. They measure the temperature of the fluid in the solar collector, in the solar boiler (300l) and in the reserve boiler (200l). If the temperature of the fluid in the solar collector is higher than in the boilers, the controller sends a signal to the circulator pump. The pump makes sure that the coolant starts to circulate through the pipes. If the coolant passes the solar collector the temperature of the fluid will rise. The hot heat exchanger in the solar boiler gives his warmth to the water in the boiler. The boiler can store the heated water till it is needed. For example when you want take a shower.

If the water in the solar boiler has reached the maximum temperature that is required, a three-way valve can close the circulation of the coolant through the solar boiler and lead the coolant through the heat exchanger of the reserve boiler

A Datalogger DL2 is connected to the controller. The collected data of the sensors can be followed on the internet.

There has to be an expansion vessel in the circuit. If the water in the boilers reaches the maximum temperature that is required and the temperature in the solar collector is still climbing, the coolant will evaporate and the pressure in the pipe system will rise. In the expansion vessel is a membrane that separates the coolant and compressed air. If the pressure in the pipe system rises, the membrane in the vessel can expand, so the pressure in the pipe system can be controlled.

The gas burner has two functions. It takes care of the heating in the house and it can also be used to increase the temperature in the solar boiler if there is not enough solar power to heat water in the solar boiler.

The solar collector system is only connected to the warm water system in the house and not the heating system. In a house with floor heating it is possible to connect the solar collector to the heating because low temperature heating is used.
